Happy Thanksgiving VS Readers!!
I have A LOT to be thankful for this year, especially for all of YOU! :) This blog and all the relationships, connections and opportunities I have made through it have developed so much since a year ago. I thank you all for your support! And if this year is any sign of what the next year has in store for me, I look forward to all that I will be thankful for next Thanksgiving!
To celebrate with you all, here are a few photos from my Thanksgiving Dinner I made 2 weeks ago for Frenchie le Boyfriend’s family in their hometown of Nantes. (And the dessert/wine pairing is my Challenge #8 for Project Wine Blog!)
Here you are folks, I went through ALL of my photo files and came up with my ‘vinous’ photo journey! Below you will find photos of people that have inspired me on my wine journey, special people that have supported me through this vinous adventure, photos of wines from recent months that really stuck out for me, special wine places I have been to or wine memories I hold dear!
Challenge #3: Wine Tasting & Appetizer Pairing Party (Week of Oct 4th)
Real or imaginary – host a themed “Wine Tasting & Appetizer Pairing” party for guests. Pick a theme, 6 wines, a pairing appetizer for each wine, and then tell us why you went with those ideas. P.S. Don’t worry about naming specific producers/vineyards for the wines, unless you want to ;)
As a reminder **This (and all subsequent challenges) were altered from the Food Buzz’s “Project Food Blog“. This is just a way for wine bloggers to get in on all the fun!**
So the first part of the challenge was to pick a theme …
This last week, at the end of one of my Facebook stalking browsing sessions, I started to feel really homesick – because I am missing Halloween for the 3rd time …. so many posts/photos/links to everyone’s Halloween plans, costume ideas, etc. For those of you who think Halloween exists outside the US … not so much. Sure, you may come across the random party here or the bar that puts up a few decorations, but it is NOTHING compared to the insanity we celebrate in the US. I look forward to this ‘holiday’ all year long! Needless to say I miss Halloween like a Frenchman visiting the U.S. misses his cheese! (which is A LOT!) So the theme for Challenge #3’s Wine Tasting & Appetizer Pairing is …
So yes, still no internet ‘chez moi’, but I did manage to make it to McDonald’s to use their Wifi. They must be thinking, “Oh, look at zat “typical” American, she comes all ze way to la France to eat McDonalds! Pierre, go buy her a baguette, Camembert, and some Coq au Vin, she needs to experience la cuisine Francaise!”
I wonder if they would change their opinion of me if I told them I am just here to use the free Wifi? Probably not.
Ok, where do I go from here? Where did we leave off? I do believe I never finished up the happenings at the London International Wine Fair. I think I was somewhere around day two of my trip to the fair?
