Happy Very Belated Birthday To My Daddio aka “The Daddio Drip Dickey”

So my dad's birthday was March 3rd. I know this post is super late, but I am backed up on VS posts I need to write, and when I say backed up ... I'm talkin' rush hour in Los Angeles backed up, lol. Such is blogging-life :) But this was at the top of my list of posts that needed to get out, so here's to you "The Daddio Drip Dickey!" Happy Birthday! Joyeux Anniversaire! Feliz Cumpleanos!

.

Yes, I know.

.

I am so rude for not putting a special birthday post for a very special person in my life … my Daddio. Some girls call their fathers ‘father’, ‘dad’, ‘daddy’, ‘pops’, or ‘papi’ … but I call my dad, Daddio! I know …  it’s a super cool name to call one’s dad. Don’t be jealous.  And don’t think about copying me either! Lol.

In any case, back to me being rude. So my dad’s birthday was March 3rd. He turned the big  TWO – ONE (plus 29) – an insanely special birthday! And for those of you who don’t know my dad … well he is big jokester. His dad was a jokester, I’m sure his dad was one too. (Now you know where I get my comedic side from :P)

That bottle he is holding is the birthday wine bottle I bought for him. It is DELICIOUS! You must get your paws on this bad boy. It is called Petite Petit from Michael David Winery. I am all the rage about this wine lately. It’s black fruit aromas wrap around you like an elephant’s trunk :P It is certainly an in-your-face wine in all the right ways. It comes from one of the hottest places of the California wine growing regions, Lodi. Petite Petit’s name comes from the two varietals used to make this wine, 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot. This wine is certainly a steal compared to its amazing quality. It retails between $14-17 here in San Antonio and runs about $40-45 at local restaurants.

So back to my Daddio’s birthday … y’all know it’s a VS tradition here to give people VS names on their birthday, but since my dad is jokester, I can’t just give him just any VS name … it has to have a ‘funny’ ring to it :)

So without further ado, I hereby dub my Daddio with the Vinously Speaking name of …. “THE DADDIO DRIP DICKEY

And what does a drip dickey have to do with wine? (Get your mind out of the gutter, lol).  You know when you pour wine from the bottle you get that little drip that runs down the side and then onto your counter, tablecloth, pant leg? Well the drip dickey is a neat little invention that avoids that problem. A drip dickey is the trademarked brand name of the special wine accessory that fits snugly around the neck of a wine bottle to absorb that darn drop of wine that drips down the bottle. You might also hear it called a drip ring, drip collar or drip catcher.

The name is a lot more humorous than the actual accessory … but that was all I needed, a humorous name for my jokester of a Dad.

You are my inspiration, best friend, role model and partner in crime! I love you more than I could ever say or show.

Shhhhhh! The birthday boy passed out, haha. He had one too many Stella Artois (his favorite beer).

Happy Five-Ohhh Daddio! Joyeux Anniversaire! Feliz Cumpleanos!

Love, your Ceci Sipper!

(PS. Why do 90% of my loved one’s birthday fall in a one month time span? Lol. This blog is turning into a birthday wine blog, hahaha. And don’t think this is over yet, my birthday is one week from today!)
