Sooooooooo….
I am in London and having a mad love affair with this amazing city!
I mean, what is not to love about double-decker buses, people clearly driving on the wrong side of the road and steering on the wrong side of the car =P,
the history and architecture,
endless boulevards lined with pubs,
beer that flows like waterfalls,
and some good ole Fish n’ Chips n’ Mashed Peas! Oh and any culture that puts malt vinegar on their fries is 100% pure awesome!
And what better to do in London then go to a major wine expo?
I woke up this morning at what I thought was 7am, but as I forgot about the hour time change…I actually woke up at the very sober hour of 6am and was incredibly early (something that is just not my style, I am more of a RIGHT on time kinda girl =P). So anyways, I got all dolled up…
* check out the 2 other blokes in my Masters in Wine Biz progra, they shine up like a pretty pound! (yes, I used the word blokes instead of guys and ‘pound’ instead of a ‘penny’…but give me a break, I am in London!, I have to try and fit in and use the local lingo!)
After getting all dolled up, I had to hop on the Tube (aka subway) to head on over to the wine conference center, and this is what I was met with …..
Ahhh!!! It took me 3 trains to finally squeeze into a subway car. Now I know what sardines feel like!! It was insane!!~ And after a good 45 minute chaotic tube ride ;) …..
Welcome to the London International Wine Fair!
Funny enough, I travelled all the way across the channel, only to be greeted by some English folks dressed up like Frenchies serving free croissants and promoting the “Fast Track to France” wine sessions here at the London Wine Fair. Les francais ils sont fous! (translation – “the french, they are crazy”)
And what is the theme for the the London Wine Fair?….
And “Just Drink” I will!
Here are some photos I took from my first day here at the London International Wine Fair! I just love the hustle and bustle of these wine fairs!
Wine Intelligence (“a global company dedicated to supporting wine businesses and associations through consulting, branding & market research”) is putting on a series of lecture/seminars on various topics facing the wine industry, for example “Wine and the Millenial Generation, Wine Trends in North America, Research on the Wine Industry in China” (I will blog more on the seminars I attended on a later post)

Check out this awesome back label from Milbrant Vineyards, you peel off a portion on the back section and you have a food pairing for the wine! (Will blog more about these wines later, as I totally loved them!)
Had some beautiful Oregon Pinot Noirs from Kings Ridge Wines, more on them later as well!
I have been spending a lot of my day at the “Access Zone” attending several seminars (also was asked to do a video interview! You can check out the action going on here at their live feed London Wine Fair site) a stand put on by Catavino Wine Marketing. This is THE stand that for Social Media taking over the Wine Industry!
